Villa Atelier is a Latina-Owned business by artist Lianna Villarreal. Lianna is a fourth-year student at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology and a minor in Sociology. Upon graduating from UT in December, she plans to enroll in Austin Community College to advance her artistic ability with an Associate of Applied Science in Jewelry. Then, it's time to head to medical school! She is excited to pursue a career in medicine and benefit the most at-risk members of our society, including people who are enduring substance use disorders and people who are unhoused. 

In my mind, Villa Atelier represents a commitment to myself and my abilities. Medicine is a realm where science and art harmoniously intertwine. The art of jewelry making and the practice of medicine are both acts of creation-- each imbued with a sense of purpose and meaning. The parallels between the two disciplines emphasize the artistry and humanity inherent in both practices. Whether I am crafting a delicate pair of earrings or investigating a complex physiological condition, I am driven by a shared passion for creativity, compassion, innovation, and the transformative power of human connection. I've had the privilege of connecting with many individuals and fostering genuine camaraderie with fellow artisans in Austin. Ultimately, my goal is to cultivate a life and community rooted in creativity and mutual support.

Villa Atelier, a name derived from the fusion of personal significance and artistic inspiration, embodies the essence of my jewelry brand. 'Villa' is a homage to the first half of my surname, encapsulating heritage within every piece I make. Paired with 'Atelier,' meaning 'workshop' or 'studio,' it reflects my dedication to the artisanal craft, where creativity flourishes and each design is meticulously brought to life. The inclusion of the calla lily flower in Villa Atelier's logo serves as a timeless emblem of elegance and sophistication. Mirroring the gracefulness of my jewelry pieces, its enduring nature echoes the everlasting allure inherent in every creation from Villa Atelier. As my favorite flower, the calla lily imbues my brand with a personal touch, infusing each design with passion and authenticity.

Villa Atelier is the realm behind my eyes, where the weights of mundanity do not apply. When I create a piece for someone, it has been worked in my own two hands, and my hope is that recipients of these pieces might feel a connection to them, being able to trace my vision, process, and passion.
